Life or death?
When looking at the age old questions of why we are here and what this life is about, if anything, we know by answering these very questions we begin to see the meaning, or meaninglessness in our lives; hopefully the former. Life or death is something put in front of every single one of us. Life or death in addiction gets very real, very fast! Even scarier life or death is a choice. Even if that choice becomes lost somewhere along the way, once it could have been a choice indeed.
Deuteronomy 30 just can’t escape us, no matter how much this world thinks it’s evolved; the more things change the more they remain the same as paradox serves us, rather than opposes us. In the light of choosing life, not death and blessings not cursing, look at these words I found some time ago and realize life is purposefully meant to be exactly what we make it. If it serves as a simple reminder for you to choose more wisely in all things great and small, then our work in this post is done. Life or death are often choices. No matter which way we try and look at it.
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfil it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
“Lord I crawled across the barrenness to you with my empty cup uncertain in asking any small drop of refreshment. If only I had known you better I’d have come running with a bucket. Man is born broken. He lives by mending. The grace of God is glue. -Eugene Gladstone O’Neill (1888-1953)
